Uniforms:

At the meeting last Thursday, it was discussed that the Men’s team would be ordering a new set of uniforms for the 2011-2012 season. We will be discussing this with the men’s club at the first training session. I have sourced quotes from several vendors and we would likely be looking to have them for the new year. The Women’s team will have the option of getting new uniforms but, that will be a decision for the women’s team to decide on at the first game day.

Dublin Lacrosse Halloween Party

This year we are hosting a Halloween party the weekend of October 30th/31st (Bank holiday on Nov 1), we will be using this as a fundraiser for the club and also looking to take advantage the national team trials that weekend. Tickets will be €10, and money goes directly to the club. More details will be sent out in the near future as Rebecca is busy organising venues and fun!!! We would ask that you think about inviting all your friends as the more people attend the better the evening will be and the more money the club will make.

National Team Trials

Ireland Lacrosse is holding national team try-outs the weekend of October 29th-31st as mentioned. If you are a men’ or women’s player interested in attending the please have a look at: http://www.irelandlacrosse.ie/home/?p=840 for more details. You would be eligible for the national team if you are an Irish Citizen, Passport Holder, or Resident of Ireland for 2 years prior to the 2012 European Championships but, further details of Irish National Team Eligibility can be found under the national team section of the Ireland Lacrosse Website. Our club is lucky as we have over the past seven years had at least 20 players put on the green and white. I would personally encourage you to consider attending even if you do not think you will make it on the team. There is excellent coaching for 2-3 days and there will most likely be a festival team entered in the 2012 European Championships Festival Tournament.
