The Dublin Avengers’ Women’s team are all set to head off to Belgium to compete in the Ken Galluccio Cup in Ghent. They will compete alongside the Men’s team as they both fight to be crowned the best lacrosse club in Europe. They will be the first women’s team to represent Ireland in the tournament.
The competition takes place in Blaarmeersen, Ghent on the 13th and 14th of September. The tournament will see the top women’s club from eleven European countries battle it out over the two days. Matches begin at 9am on Saturday and the closing ceremony will be at 3:45 on the Sunday afternoon.
The Women are in Group 2 and will compete against LCC Radotin (Czech Republic) and the Norway Allstars in the group stages. They must place either 1st or 2nd in the group to progress on with a chance to win the tournament. Follow the fixtures on our website to see how the women are doing and who they will come up against. There will also be a fastest shot competition where Aisling Casey will compete.
