Who We Are
Ireland Lacrosse is the National Governing Body for the sport of lacrosse on the island of Ireland. It is recognised as the NGB by World Lacrosse and the European Lacrosse Federation, and is a member of the Olympic Federation of Ireland and the Federation of Irish Sport.
The organisation is run entirely by volunteers. It is funded almost entirely by its athletes and members. Activity is structured across four programme domains:
High Performance
National teams across men's, women's, junior and senior levels in field, box and sixes.
Éire
Heritage teams connecting the global Irish diaspora to the green jersey.
Participation
Supports the development, growth and sustainability of lacrosse on the island of Ireland.
Organisation
Governance, central operations and the foundations everything else stands on.
How We're Governed
Board
The Ireland Lacrosse Board is the governing body of the organisation. It sets strategy and is the ultimate authority for legal, financial and policy compliance.

Committees and Working Groups
The Board is supported by a structure of committees and working groups, each with defined Terms of Reference.
High Performance Committee
Oversees the national team programmes (men's, women's, junior, senior, field, box, sixes), Éire heritage programmes, and high-performance financial management.
Participation Committee
Oversees the Irish Lacrosse League, Schools Cup, club development, coach education and officiating.

The Ireland Lacrosse North America Board sits alongside this structure as the governing body of the US-based 501(c)(3) entity that supports the Irish NGB.
Sport Ireland Governance Code
Ireland Lacrosse is implementing the Sport Ireland Governance Code. Adoption is in progress and is not yet fully implemented. Progress will be reported through the AGM and ongoing Board updates.
Sport Ireland NGB Recognition
Ireland Lacrosse is not currently a Sport Ireland recognised NGB. Recognition was applied for in 2018 and was declined on participation grounds. Re-application is a stated objective of the current Strategic Plan, with growth in domestic participation as the lead enabler.
Annual General Meeting
Ireland Lacrosse holds an AGM each year. The AGM is open to all members. Voting is restricted to members in good standing. The most recent AGM presentation is available below.

Finance
Six Principles of Financial Management

Financial management and reporting are segmented into four domains: High Performance, Éire, Participation, and Organisation.

Each domain is managed separately and is self-contained.
- 3
Each domain must wash its own face. That is, break-even or better.

Each domain may include sub-domains, projects or teams. How those are managed is decided within the relevant Ireland Lacrosse committee.

All members across all domains must hold an active Ireland Lacrosse membership. Membership fees are ring-fenced for the Organisation domain.

Cross-domain collaboration and cross-subsidisation are permitted but not required. Where they occur, a Rationale for Significant Reallocations is recorded by the Finance Committee.
Annual Accounts
Ireland Lacrosse submits an annual Directors' Report and Financial Statement to the Companies Registration Office in Dublin. The process is overseen by an independent accountant.

Ireland Lacrosse is seeking additional non-executive directors to broaden expertise and strengthen oversight in line with Sport Ireland Governance Code expectations. We are looking for individuals with relevant skills to help shape the organisation in the years to come.

Ireland Lacrosse Sporting Association Company Limited by Guarantee is registered with the Companies Registration Office of Ireland, registration number 475980, since 5 October 2009. It is registered with the Office of the Revenue Commissioners as a Sporting Body with Tax Exemption under Section 235 of the Taxes Consolidation Act, 1997, registration number 2925.
Ireland Lacrosse North America, Inc. is registered with the State Corporation Commission of the Commonwealth of Virginia since 4 February 2016 and is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organisation under the US Internal Revenue Code, EIN 81-0842200.
