How Selection Works

01

Register as a Member

All candidates must hold an active Ireland Lacrosse membership. Register through the membership portal — events are also booked there.

02

Attend an Identification Event

Attend at least one identification event from the calendar. Women's Box candidates must attend a minimum of two ID events.

03

Invitation to Final Selection

Top performers are invited to a team-specific final selection event or training camp. These events are by invitation only.

04

Roster & Alternates Announced

Following the final selection event, coaches name the full squad and alternates. Selected athletes receive an official invoice for participation costs.

Key Things to Know

ID Events are posted, promoted and added to the membership system at least two months before the start date — check back regularly.

Athletes who represented a national team the previous year are automatically included in the ID pool.

The coaching staff can shortlist or advance specific athletes at any point during the process into a selection pool for a specific team.

Identification events serve double duty — an opportunity to play and compete, and strong performances can earn a call-up into the selection pool.

Follow Ireland Lacrosse on social media for updates as new events are added throughout the year.
